Stronger Than The Devil's Will

about

This is a very personal song. It was written around 2007ish and unfortunately its has more meaning and weight these days.

I decided to keep all the vocal "blemishes" in this one. You can hear my voice tremble in the 1st verse, you can hear it in a few parts. I wanted to leave it with as much feeling as possible.

The ending slide solo is actually played with a beer bottle as I did not bring a slide, or some reason, with me to Costa Rica.

lyrics

Father, why did you leave your home?
Why did you come to this land of cold?
And father why did you stay?
You gave your life, to work all night and day.

But if you got nothing left to give that's alright with me
And you can hold your head up high
Till the day you die

Mother, why did you come?
To this land of fortune, the land that raised your son.
And mother are you happy still?
You're much stronger than the devil's will.

But if you got nothing left to give that's alright with me
And you can hold your head up high
Till the day you die
